(Small Notes for the Issue)

The campaign started in 1950, and this year marks the 50th anniversary. The main event for 2000 was held at the Prefectural Forest and Peace Forest Park of Oita on April 23. The stamps depict Bungo-Ume (Plum blossoms), a Japanese White-eye and the Kuju Mountain Chain, all of which represent Oita Prefecture.
