The Japanese Diet is the oldest national assembly in Asia. It was established in 1890 and the year 2000 marks its 110th anniversary. The commemorative ceremony of the 110th anniversary of the Diet was held at the hall of the House of Councillors on 29 November. The stamp depicts the front tower of the Diet building and the pattern of the marble floor in the central hall.
