(Small Notes for the Issue)
"Awa-odori" dance is a variation of the Bon dance traditionally performed in Tokushima Prefecture, which is formerly known as Awa province. It is performed from 12 to 15 August during observance of the Bon festival that as many as 1,000 groups of men and women ( called "ren") parade, dancing to the accompaniment of lutes, flutes and drums.
