(Small Notes for the issue)
Philatelic Week was enacted in 1947 to facilitate stamp collecting hobby among people by introducing cultural value of stamps as well as their aesthetic quality. Early paintings of Kyo Kano-ha (The Kano school of painting), including a painting of Kano Sanraku (1559-1635) are adopted for postage stamp design this year.
