Since the Patent Attorney System was enacted in 1899, the patentee, patent attorney and the patent office have made great contributions to Japanese industrial and economical developments. The stamp depicts the plan of "Jindou-sha (man power car)," which got a patent on the first day of the system, on July 1, 1899.
